LOCATION:
Until 20 May 2012 Torre Massimiliana, Sant’Erasmo Island Open until 20 May 2012 in the Torre Massimiliana of Sant’Erasmo, a lush and seldom visited island of the Venetian Lagoon, is the graphicnovel.it exhibition, which is the hub of a little-known form of art in Italy, despite there being many authors born in Italy who have gained international recognition, particularly in France. The Graphic Novel is the artistic and literary movement which brings together, in a single means of expression, the language of comic strips and drawing performed with the most diverse techniques. Venice aims to grant worthiness to this form of art by hosting, at the Torre Massimiliana, 150 original works taken from comics by 15 Italian authors translated in France, which find their ideal location in the Torre Massimiliana, representing Italian excellence in the domain of the Graphic Novel. For each author, one book is presented along with its drawings and its French and Italian published editions. The artists in the exhibition are: Vittorio Giardino, Lorenzo Mattotti, Igort, Leila Marzocchi, Gabriella Giandelli, Gipi, Davide Toffolo, Stefano Ricci, Davide Reviati, Sara Colaone, Giacomo Nanni, Manuele Fior, Piero Macola, Francesco Cattani and Alessandro Tota.PG
