Conegliano and the Wine Route itinerary: Strada del Prosecco e Strada dei Vini del Piave
In
Conegliano there is the oldest wine-making school in Italy and Europe (founded in 1876 by G.B. Cerletti).
From here the first Italian oenological itinerary starts, the “Strada del Prosecco e Vini dei Colli Conegliano Valdobbiadene” (1966), a circular route of about 90 km that offers the visitor the chance to discover enchanting hilly landscapes, covered with vineyards with the its villages and medieval views, to which the more recent “Strada dei Vini del Piave” has been added. Along the itineraries it is possible to visit the cellars, by appointment, and taste the local wines.
