LOCATION:
The American, Michael Mann, director, screenwriter, producer and one of the most influential and representative figures in contemporary American cinema – will be chairing the jury at the 69th Venice International Film Festival (29 August – 8 September 2012), Michael Mann is famous for having created some of the most successful series in television history (Miami Vice, Crime Story), which would go on to become stylistic and sociological showpieces of the eighties and contribute to the creation of new standards of quality that originated from filmmaking. As a director he developed his own very personal style in the thematic and formal processes that were drawn predominantly from the mythology of urban thrillers (Manhunter, Heat, Insider, Ali, Collateral, Public Enemies). He then went on to establish himself as one of the greatest designers and innovators working in Hollywood movies. This is the first time that Michael Mann will chair a Jury at an international festival.
