The Hotel Antica Locanda Sturion has one of the most sophisticated and quintessentially Venetian atmospheres in its home city. It is a small, refined hotel that looks out onto Venice’s Grand Canal and has spectacular views of the Rialto Bridge. It is one of 24 inns in the city known as Antiche Locande. None of them exist in their original form anymore, but for four centuries they epitomized the great hospitality of Venice. The Doge himself gave permission for the original building to be used as an inn at the end of the 13th century and it remained in the same location for around 400 years, during which time it went through a number of demolitions, fires and renovations. The Hotel Antica Locanda Sturion has kept alive the traditional hospitality that was once experienced by merchants, ambassadors and sea captains when they arrived in Venice with valuable spices and precious silk, telling tales of their adventures in the Far East. The same pleasures and knowledge that were sought out by the travellers of the past can still be found there today. The Hotel Antica Locanda Sturion is a welcoming little establishment with just 11 bedrooms. Its distinctive Venetian red damasks and furniture create a unique, intimate ambience steeped in authentic tradition. There are outstanding views of the Grand Canal and the Rialto Bridge from two prestigious Superior Rooms and the beautiful Breakfast Room, which also serves as: A reading room with a small but very well stocked library containing many books in a number of languages. A sitting room where guests can relax in the afternoon and take superb photographs of the Grand Canal at sunset. Please note that the hotel can provide gluten-free breakfasts for coeliac disease sufferers. The Hotel Antica Locanda Sturion is a family-run Charming Small Hotel.
